The recital is built around some key concepts such as pain, consolation, fragility and vulnerability. I think the world, today, is in deep need of consolation, we all are. Schubert wrote his Six Moments Musicaux D780 while starting the approach to the final stretch of his very short and tormented existence: we aren't far at all from the economy, maturity and profundity of style of his last piano sonatas.
